From Facebook today, someone posted this talking about BELMAR beach
My 87-year old father was harrassed by a couple of 20 something year old guys on the 16th Ave Beach yesterday. Apparently there is some sick trend where kids taunt elderly people on video to post online. I’m sharing with the hope that people will keep a sharp lookout and intervene if they see something concerning. I also hope that some good can come of this – please use this as a teachable moment with your kids. If their friends are engaged in this behavior, it’s their responsibility to tell their friends that it’s NOT FUNNY to abuse elderly people and they need to STOP. For this to happen in my one square mile town during a time when we’re asking young people to look our for our seniors in particular…no words.
There is no reason for this disrespect. Kids now are they are just nasty. Not all of them but any of them. They don’t listen, not even to the teachers. When I was in school the teacher looked at you , you shook in your shoes. Now forget. They get away with what ever they can. Thhey want the beaches open and they do this. SHAME ON THEM!!!!!
20 something? Men. Not kids. Harassment? No. Assault. A threat that causes fear of harm. A crime, both criminal and civil.
Keep an eye out? Yes. Intervene, yes. But call the cops.
