Other beaches in Monmouth and Ocean counties also had tests indicating potentially unsafe swimming conditions. The beaches that had two or more unsafe swimming tests in 2019 were found in Sea Girt, Brick, Harvey Cedars’ Bay Front beach, Surf City, Belmar, Long Branch, Highlands, Neptune, Sea Bright and Seaside Park.
Two beaches in Ocean County were the most frequently polluted with fecal bacteria among all New Jersey bathing beaches tested last year, according to a new report by the advocacy group Environment New Jersey.
